Anabel López Designer

Anabel Lopez is a Quito based fashion designer and professional photographer. Through her travel experiences and creative outlook on life Anabel combines both worlds to create a unique look that pushes for individuality.

BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Anabel Lopez has become an established name through her distinct look and desire to push the fashion boundaries.

Growing up Anabel’s mother sewed many of the clothes she wore and taught her how to knit. She then started knitting her own pants during her college years in Quito. Soon after people were asking for her garments and Anabel’s design career began. After obtaining her degree in Public Relations she decided to move to Argentina and study Fashion Design and Photography in Buenos Aires.

Anabel then received her fashion break in October 2005 when she was asked to create the looks for the finalists in the Miss Quito pageant. After her studies in Quito and Buenos Aires she moved to Seoul for five years where she discovered another creative platform through photography. Anabel then went back to her roots in design and moved to Barcelona for a Masters in Fashion Management.

When Anabel is designing she takes her inspiration from the diverse personalities and characters in everyday life to create looks that use fashion as a medium of expression. For Anabel fashion is like a second skin. It is a form of self-expression, as we all identify with the colors, shapes and patterns we chose to wear. Anabel’s designs are also influenced by the play of light and dark, from nature to architecture and destruction, while incorporating the inspiration of colors and people she has encountered through her travels. Anabel’s journeys and push for individuality allows her to continuously create unique garments that separate from the masses.
