PachaQueer is a dissident, rebel, self-sustaining and “self-festive” performance and politics project, founded in May 2013 in Quito, Ecuador. This transgender collective has staged provocative guerrilla performances in unusual public locations, as well as their home venue. They are activists who question the violent rules of a heteronormative and capitalistic society through art, performance and alternative education. “La Pacha” is an independent performance space whose founders, Madame Mota (aka Eduardo Fajardo) and Madame Coca (aka Fernando Rodríguez) promote people’s free expression and a way of life based on the idea of Queer, Cuir, Cuy (or whatever you want to call is) as a way to live in community based on unconditional love, communication, participation, exchange and celebration.
