Inti Kamari

Inti Kamari is a holistic retreat center for self-development in the south of Ecuador. This project was born from a deeply felt desire to experience a more complete and natural way of living, outside the demanding vortex of city life, but in harmony with our natural surroundings and consciously using natural resources at hand.

Since self-development, nature, art and education have been such indispensable parts of our own journeys, we felt the urge to share and co-create a space, where personal growth and an attuning to the subtle harmonies of nature would be possible.

These ideals in turn found a fertile breeding ground just an hour from the city of Cuenca, in the subtropical climate of a small valley called Yunguilla. This is where we want to share our way of living with people from all over the world.

Inti Kamari (meaning gift of the sun in Kichwa, the ancient indigenous language of Ecuador) hosts a wide array of retreats that promote human growth and development in every possible form, tailored to today's changing times. There are seven areas that constitute the core pillars of our vision:

- Yoga and meditation
- Emotional and cognitive intelligence
- Neurosciences and corpo-sensorial discovery
- Nutrition and movement
- Nature and farming
- Art and philosophy
- Interpersonal and community

The center is open to local and foreign organizers of any form of self-development retreats that aim to promote the human potential, creativity and the re connection to the nature. The center is equally welcoming to volunteers that want to participate in the co-creation of this dream.

Mother Nature herself is at the very heart of our worldview. We are trying to be true to nature by deepening and implementing permaculture, bio-construction and organic farming techniques, both in the courses we offer and especially in our own practice. We are grateful to be the home of a greenhouse with flowers, crops and medicinal plants and an orchard with a broad variety of fruit trees.

A part of our earnings are destined to our Educational foundation called Sayani (meaning rebirth in Kichwa). This investment will be our gift and a service to the neighboring community. In co-operation with others we will give back our share to the direct surroundings of the center – Quillosisa – and the wider area – the region between Santa Isabel and La Union – in the form of free courses in English, music, painting and farming techniques.

Inti Kamari offers:

- A yoga shala and big gathering hall with a truly impressive Andean view
- A main lounge with small library of spiritual and scientific books and tea bar
- A music room
- A commodore with an elaborated kitchen
- Two swimming pools
- Three houses with fourteen rooms, that can host around thirty guests
- Spacious communal rooms and independent kitchens in every house
- Natural sweat lodge within the embrace of a Bamboo forest
- Natural lake originated from a mineral source.

Our intention is to hold a space where you can grow, heal and developed in the only way that truly suits you, that is, in your own way.
